Match Report
The second match was a tight tussle. Neither team was able to trouble the scorer in the first half. The only activity was a green card awarded to New Zealand's Brad MacLeod just before half time.
Late in the third quarter, Craig Bigham earned a green card and New Zealand were able to capitalise with Ben Molloy grabbing a field goal.
Going into the final quarter 0-1 down, Australia dug deep. They were helped by 5 minute yellow cards to New Zealand's James Hawley and David Down. Australia enjoyed the freedom of playing against 9 men and Theo Gruschka grabbed a field goal to even things up. With the team numbers returned to parity, Sam McCambridge scored from a penalty corner with 5 minutes to go and then defended to take the win.
Australia showed great fight to stay in the contest and ultimately take the win. Tomorrow's decider promises to be a great battle with both sides demonstrating a desire to win.
